Amber Hojnacki, LMSW

Experience: Amber graduated from Western Michigan University with her Bachelor of Social Work in 2013 and her Master of Social Work in 2016. Amber’s experience includes intensive home-based therapy with children and families, therapeutic case management and individual psychotherapy with adults ages 18-100, and work in the non-profit sector.

Approach to Counseling: Amber practices a humanistic approach and prioritizes creating a therapeutic relationship based on trust and consistency. She believes that creating a space where clients feel comfortable, accepted, and free to express themselves is essential to the process. Amber helps to empower clients to feel confident in reaching their goals of therapy and is welcoming of whatever those goals may be.

When it comes to therapeutic interventions, Amber utilizes an eclectic approach tailored to each client. She has experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

She currently is scheduling individuals ages 16 and up. She has experience assisting people with a variety of challenges including special interests in anxiety, life transition, family conflict, grief, and caregiver support.
